Actually, I am not thinking about 37 as being old but why did you put a “)” after the third ‘document’ in the next to last sentence.

  2. Angela Says:

My thoughts are not that 37 is old, but that the 22 year-old is a very young 22! It is silly that one does not exhibit common good manners in one’s place of business. It helps others to be comfortable being around us.

Now… think of this, if the situation was reversed and the leader to the business walked in to the new day without greeting the team, than the culture would decline in employee satisfaction and people would feel unappreciated and insignificant in the eyes of the leaders. Leaders need love too. The 22 year-old should participate in the culture that she wants for herself, which is to say create a culture of welcome.

    Dear Mr. Shepard,
Is it “Anal Retentive” to notice that you have an end parenthesis but no beginning parentheses in your second to last paragraph? Or is it worse that I am writing this in Microsoft Word so that I can spell check it, run it through the thesaurus, then copy and paste it into your comments section? Some people just can’t turn it off.
    To your success,

  4. Steve Weidner Says:

Does rolling your clothes up in a neat bundle before stacking neatly into the clothes hamper count?

  5. Scott Says:

Every person on this planet has some ability towards anal retentiveness. Without even realizing it, our brains make literally thousands of decisions daily through the use of executive order. Just the act of driving to work, one makes hundreds of decisions without actually being aware that this is happening.

Can any good thing be taken too far? Yes, of course it can, but being organized to some degree is essential just to get one’s self through each and every day.

    P.S. I’m a “young” 60 years old.

  6. Brad 20,000 Says:

It’s clear to me the non-responsive 22 yr old is not interested in advancing.
I attribute this lack of response to Millenialism. Send her a a good morning text! 🙂

  7. Kelly Ramirez Says:

LOL — I love the anal attentiveness of your readers. I wasn’t the only one who was ‘bothered’ by your end parenthesis after Document. 🙂

  8. Beth Miller Says:

Mmmm…I think that “young whippersnapper” (yes, I spell checked that word) needs to learn a little respect for other people – never mind the age of the person!!!!

  9. Greg Says:

LOL. I also was going to ask why there was a ) after the third document. Glad I’m not the only one. I have employees that are quite a bit younger than me, however out of respect they always respond when I say things like “good morning.” I don’t like the term millenialism, as it is just a cop-out. Really it’s a lack of respect, and usually related to their upbringing. Even my two year old son says good morning, good night, and also says hello everytime I return to my home. That employee needs to learn respect.
